The beginning: Factor is published since June, 2001. It is the first freely distributed printed media in Burgas and in the country.
Advertising in a free newspaper: The purpose of this method, long known in Europe and the United States, is to achieve high circulation and no returned copies, which allows for efficient advertising, which attracts many companies, wishing to promote their products.
New style of journalism: Factor newspaper is produced by a team of professional journalists, who've won many national journalism awards. Rumyana Emanuilidu received the first "Coalition 2000" award for journalists working outside the capital - "For contributing towards transparent and democratic control in society and establishing civil unrest towards corruption." In 2003, she was also awarded first prize for investigative journalism by the Association for Investigative Journalism and the Center for Media Development - Sofia, in the category Regional Media, and also won the grand prize - practice in London's Guardian, where she completed her research on "The Masters of Life", which was later published in Factor - Burgas.
Upon returning from London, Rumyana Emanuilidu investigated human trafficking to Britain and received first prize in the National Media category, for her work on protecting women's rights and gender equality in Bulgaria, in a competition, organized by the Center for Media Development and the Women's Center for Research and Policy.
In 2009, BG Media awarded her a Golden Phoenix, for investigative journalism.
Silvia Shatarova received the Reporter of the Year award, in 2007, by the Bulgarian Regional Media Association. Biodiversity Foundation awarded her for her overall work on promoting biological diversity protection. In 2008 and 2009, she received the Golden Phoenix award, which was given to her by BG Media, for her reports on current events.
Stanislava Kodeva's articles on child abuse in Bulgaria were awarded first price in a topical competition, organized by UNICEF.
Lora Stamatis received first prize for her articles, by the Bulgarian Regional Media Association. She received many national awards for her travel articles.
Factor is not an advertising or shopping guide, but a serious and objective newspaper, covering current and important events.
Distribution: The newspaper is distributed on specially designed company stands, in the most popular shopping centers in Burgas.
Billa Hypermarket - Burgas, was the first shopping center in the city, where Factor began its distribution. Today, the newspaper can be found in Metro, Carrefour (Burgas Plaza Mall), CBA outlets (Sara, Bolero), 24/7 shopping centers such as Absolut and Trivia, and in other outlets, such as Europa, Technopolis, Praktiker - Burgas, Mr. Bricolage, Bulgaria hotels, Aqua hotel and many other locations.
Every Friday - 2 500 subscribers of Burgaspress, 1 000 subscribers of BIS - Boyan Ivanov and 1 000 subscribers of Bulgarian Posts JSC, receive Factor newspaper for free. Another 750 copies are distributed in Aytos, Ruen, Vetren, Kameno, Balgarovo, Karnobat, Sozopol, Primorsko, Kiten, Ahtopol, Lozenets and Tsarevo, by the distribution company Bratya Gereni - 2005 EOOD.
More than 3 000 copies are delivered in shopping centers in Tsarevo, Sunny Beach, Nessebar, Pomorie, Sozopol and Primorsko, in order to better distribute the newspaper among all Black Sea towns.
The "Factor" brand name: Factor newspaper - Veliko Tarnovo is published since March, 2008, in the same manner as its Burgas counterpart.
The online edition of Factor is a news portal site, covering events from the entire Burgas district and the Southern Black Sea coast.
